Primary school consultation

Glasgow City Council is holding an informal consultation into the location of a new non-denominational primary school in the Maryhill area. There are 5 sites under consideration, roughly along Maryhill Road between Maryhill station and Queen Margaret Drive: Kilmun St, Whitelaw St, Colina St, Glenfinnan Dr and the blaes pitches where Maryhill Rd & Queen Margaret Dr meet. A formal consultation will begin soon.

The site off Queen Margaret Dr is obviously of particular interest to us. As well as the primary school the plans include a full 11-aside 3G football pitch that would be available for community use outside school hours.

If you have any views on the sites under consideration the planners would love to hear from you by Tuesday 4 October. Email schoolconsultations@glasgow.gov.uk with your name, interest (eg parent, carer, resident) and your views on what the Council should take into account regarding the location of the new school and the importance of including community facilities within the building (if so, what facilities).
