Summer election: your chance to join the council

North Kelvin Community Council is holding an interim election this summer to fill 6 (six!) vacancies. We would be delighted to hear from you if you are interested in joining us. We hold 10 meetings a year on the first Tuesday of the month (no meeting in July or December). At meetings we discuss council business such as planning applications, hear reports from our City Councillors and the local police, and provide a forum for local residents to raise concerns. Parked cars blocking fire-engine access

An abandoned car in Doune Gardens was set on fire in the early hours of Saturday 13 January. The fire engine could not get into the street. The car exploded and burning petrol was running along the gully. It was an extremely frightening situation. Fortunately the fire fighters managed to run a couple of hoses along the street and eventually managed to extinguish the fire. Unfortunately other cars parked in the street have been damaged.
