NKCC health walk, 16 May
Our next walk is on Saturday 16th May 2026 and will be a meander around Kelvingrove Park, the University and some of the back streets of the West End.
Meeting point
Meet on Queen Margaret Bridge at the junction with Queen Margaret Road at 2pm, opposite our noticeboard.
About the walk
The walk is 5.04km or 3.13 miles.
Access/safety
There are some cobbled lanes on this route. The route is largely step free. There is bit of a hill at the University.
Please dress for the weather and you may wish to bring drinking water.
Full route
Queen Margaret Drive to Hamilton Drive. Stop at the Viewpoint Garden beside the river for a quick look. Lacrosse Terrace, along the back alley where the Coach House Trust building stands. Great Western Road, cross at the lights and walk down GWR.
Otago Street, left on Gibson Street, Eildon Street, into Kelvingrove Park (at entrance opposite Eusebi’s). Along to the bridge and cross and walk up Sunlight Walk towards Dumbarton Road to where the path links to the one through the Uni at the Robertson Building.
Up to South Front in front of the university and along Engineering Way. Turn left along University Avenue crossing at the lights to University Gardens, Lilybank Square, Lilybank Gardens, Great George Street, Cresswell Lane, Cresswell Street, Cranworth Street, Vinicombe Street, Kersland Street, Buckingham Terrace.
Either with a short detour through the Botanics and out via the toilets or just along Queen Margaret Drive to the start.

There is no need to book – you can just come along on the day.

★ Please wear comfortable shoes
★ Dress for the weather and consider bringing drinking water
★ Walkers needing 1:1 support should bring a buddy with them to help
★ Children must be accompanied by an adult
