Help improve recycling in Glasgow
16 September 2026
The City Council is inviting residents to take part in a short recycling survey (closing date: 13 October 2026) as part of an ongoing review of how contamination in household recycling bins is identified and managed.
Contamination occurs when non-recyclable items are placed in recycling bins, affecting recycling performance, increasing costs, and reducing environmental benefits.
The survey is open to all Glasgow householders and will help inform future policy and service improvements. Feedback will support efforts to improve recycling guidance, reduce contamination, and help Glasgow recycle more and waste less.
Residents can complete the survey in approximately 5 minutes and are encouraged to share their views, whether they are confident recyclers or sometimes find recycling challenging.
The responses will help shape future improvements to waste and recycling services across Glasgow.
Closing date: 13 October 2026.
