NKCC health walk 7 June
Our walk on Saturday 7 June 2025 will go to the Clyde riverfront on the north bank between Finnieston and the Riverside Museum.
Meeting point
Meet on Queen Margaret Bridge at the junction with Queen Margaret Road at 2pm, opposite our noticeboard.
Route in detail
From Queen Margaret Road we take the steps to the Kelvin Walkway and walk downstream through Kelvingrove Park, exiting at the gate beside the play park at North Claremont St.
We head down North Clarement St, cross Sauchiehall St and continue on Claremont St.
We turn right on to Berkely Street at the Gaelic School, then left along Brechin Street and across Kent Road to its junction with Argyle St.
We turn left along Argyle St and cross at the traffic lights and enter Minerva St on the right.
At the junction with St Vincent Crescent, we bear left, still on Minerva St and, just beyond Exhibition Centre Railway Station, we enter 'the red tunnel in the sky' and descend to ground level between the SECC and the Hydro.
We bear slightly left and walk towards the front of the Armadillo and take the path to the riverside (opposite STV studios).
We turn left and follow the footway downstream.
At the end, we take a short path on the right then go left opposite one of the SECC car parks, continuing to the junction with Stobcross Road and turn left, walking round the roundabout and past the Clydeside Distillery (it has a square tower).
The footpath continues parallel to Stobcross Road and leads to the Riverside Museum.
We cross at the zebra crossing then turn right and follow the path up the Kelvin and under Stobcross Road.
We emerge adjacent to railway arches and continue towards the large advertising display and turn left into Ferry Road and walk to its junction with Benalder St.
At Benalder St, we cross the Kelvin and continue to the junction with Cooper's Well Street.
We cross Dumbarton Road and head up Byres Road, then cross Great Western Road and return to Queen Margaret Drive.
