NKCC health walk, Kelvin Aqueduct, 15 Nov
Our next health walk will take place on Saturday 15 November 2025. We will walk along the canal to the new houses at the Kelvin Aqueduct, go under and over the aqueduct and back along the river and through the Botanics.

Meeting point
Meet on Queen Margaret Bridge at the junction with Queen Margaret Road at 2pm, opposite our noticeboard.
About the walk
This walk is 6.29km or 3.91 miles, about 1¾ hours.
Access/safety
The route is step free. However, there may be a lot of wet leaves on the ground, so do be careful about slipping. Please dress for the weather and you may wish to bring drinking water.
Full details of the route
Cross Queen Margaret Drive and walk along Kelvin Drive and Garrioch Road, Shakespeare Street, and onto the canal. Along the canal to either cross at the locks onto Bantaskin Street or we can walk across the bridge at the locks, along Maryhill Road, turning into Cowal Road and Bantaskin Street.
Down Bantaskin Street until it meets the Kelvin Walkway, under the aqueduct and then up to the aqueduct and over it, crossing to go down the path on the far side of the river, Kelvindale Road, and back onto the main Kelvin Walkway.
Then down to the bridge where we cross into the arboretum at the Botanics, up Ford Road into the main Botanics. Through the gardens, passing the glasshouses and the Kibble Palace to exit by the toilets onto Queen Margaret Drive and back to the start.
Registration
There is no need to book – you can just come along on the day.

Remember…
★ Please wear comfortable shoes
★ Dress for the weather and consider bringing drinking water
★ Walkers needing 1:1 support should bring a buddy with them to help
★ Children must be accompanied by an adult
