NKCC health walk to Kelvinhaugh
Our third March walk will be on Saturday 22nd and will go to Kelvinhaugh.
Meeting point
Meet on Queen Margaret Bridge at the junction with Queen Margaret Road at 2pm, opposite our noticeboard.
Walk details
We'll set off from the QMD bridge through Kelvingrove park, then on to Kelvin Way, past Kelvingrove museum and the Kelvin Hall on to Old Dumbarton Road.
There is an entrance to Yorkhill hospital there (about 10 steps) and we'll wander round the footpath there on to Yorkhill Parade and down to Eastvale Place.
Along Eastvale Place railway arches there are several works by graffiti artists to view. From there we can turn into the Clydeside Expressway to see more graffiti art. Main problem there is noise from the Expressway and we are right up against the murals. There is a bridge over the Expressway we could cross to see the murals in a more distanced way. However we can decide if people want to do that on the day.
Our return journey would be up Kelvinhaugh Street, across Argyle Street and into Kelvingrove Park again. From there back to Queen Margaret Bridge.
Forecast at the moment is for rain, so come prepared!
