* Glasgow City Council has partnered with the charity Trees for Streets to make it easier for residents to fund tree planting in streets across the city. You can choose to sponsor a Street Tree right outside your house, or even organise a crowdfund campaign to green an entire street. By working closely with residents to plant more trees, the council’s ambition is that, not only will Glasgow’s streets and parks be enhanced, but this will also help combat climate change, raise air quality, create stronger connections to nature and improve mental and physical health.

** Martin Rhodes, MP for Glasgow North, is hosting a 'Funder's Day' event from 1:30 to 3:30pm, Tuesday 26 August, at Maryhill Burgh Halls (10–24 Gairbraid Avenue, Glasgow G20 8YE). The idea is to provide open dialogue between third sector organisation and potential funders, offering a space for both sectors to be under one roof.

*** Path Funding – Walking Scotland. Funding of up to £10,000 is available to construct new paths to improve network connectivity as well as to upgrade existing paths to make them more accessible. This can include removing barriers on paths that are restrictive for people using adaptive equipment, installing seating along routes to provide rest points, installing directional signage, and planting wildlife-friendly trees and shrubs. Applications are open and close on 8 September 2025.
