NKCC health walk 10 January

Our first walk of the new year is on Saturday 10 January 2026. We will go to the Stockingfield Bridge along the canal and Ruchill Park on the way back.

Meeting point

Meet on Queen Margaret Bridge at the junction with Queen Margaret Road at 2pm, opposite our noticeboard.

About the walk

The walk is about 3 miles.

We will go along the canal to Stockingfield Bridge and cross to the Ruchill side.

We will follow the street nearest to the north bank of the canal (Currie St), turn right into Shauna St, then left into Ruchill St, and right into Shannon St.

We cross Bilsland Drive and enter Ruchill Park, following the path on the right, then right again alongside the play park. At the end of the path we turn right and go to the gate on Murano St.

We cross Murano St and enter the student village and follow the path to the footbridge across the canal opposite Maryhill Fire Station. We cross Maryhill Road and return to Queen Margaret Drive.

Registration

There is no need to book – you can just come along on the day.

However, if you haven’t done so already, it would be helpful if you could record your participation by entering your data on this registration link. (This needs to be done only once.)

Remember…

★ Please wear comfortable shoes

★ Dress for the weather and consider bringing drinking water

★ Walkers needing 1:1 support should bring a buddy with them to help

★ Children must be accompanied by an adult
