NKCC health walk 25 July
Our next walk is on Saturday 25 July 2026. It will be a bit longer than usual and will go to Sighthill Cemetery, which has the memorial to two men involved in the Radical Rising of 1820 who were executed in Stirling. The cemetery also offers panoramic views across the city.

Meeting point
Meet on Queen Margaret Bridge at the junction with Queen Margaret Road at 2pm, opposite our noticeboard.
About the walk
The walk there and back is a bit over 5 miles.
The route in detail
The route is: Queen Margaret Road, Doune Quadrant, Doune Gardens, Striven Gardens, Raeberry St, Trossachs St, up the zigzag path to the canal towpath and across the Claypits Bridge to the Claypits.
We turn right along the canal towpath and turn left into Applecross St and up to its junction with Ellesmere St, where we go right towards Possil Road. Then we go left, cross Saracen St into Keppochill Road.
At its junction with Carlisle St, we cross diagonally into St Rollox Drive, which becomes Fountainwell Road and joins Springburn Road, where we turn left.
The elegant gates of the cemetery are a short way along, with the striking Mortuary Chapel Building just inside. We follow the path to the first main path on the right and the memorial to the Baird and Hardie.
The top of the hill is a short way further, from where there are superb views south, west and north. After this we descend through the cemetery to exit on Keppochill Road and we return by the same route, but in reverse.

There is no need to book – you can just come along on the day.

★ Please wear comfortable shoes
★ Dress for the weather and consider bringing drinking water
★ Walkers needing 1:1 support should bring a buddy with them to help
★ Children must be accompanied by an adult
